Description

Russian coraling is a very delicate, lacy stitch that allows you to add luxurious fringe to your beading projects. Traditionally, coraling is worked on a zig zag or cross stitch base. In this project, the coraling is worked around large seed beads that are strung between glass rock-like beads. If you can’t find rock shaped beads at your local bead store, try substituting stone beads, 8mm firepolished beads or faceted puffy rhondelle beads. The substitute beads should measure 8mm from one end of the hole to the other.  Feel free to embellish the fringe by adding in fish beads or other sea shaped beads or charms to some of the branches. For this project you’ll need rock shaped beads, 8/0 seed beads, 11/0 seed beads in 3 colors, a clasp, earwires, and optional charms. You’ll also need thread, jump rings and a #12 beading needle.
